Compare AI models side by side with the same prompt

OwnGent product documentation · Updated November 8, 2026

A side-by-side AI model comparison sends the same task to different models so you can inspect their answers together. OwnGent Hub includes a comparison workflow in its chat workspace. Access depends on your plan and enabled model catalog; review the subscription plans before starting.

How to compare AI answers in OwnGent Hub

  1. Sign in and open the chat workspace. Choose its comparison mode and the models available to your account.
  2. Write one task with the same context, constraints and expected output for every model. Remove private information that the task does not need.
  3. Review the answers together. Check factual claims, source links, instructions and whether the result solves your original problem.
  4. Revise the task if the instructions were ambiguous. Use the answer that performs best for your use case and verify it before publishing or running code.

Open the model comparison workspace. You will be asked to sign in if you are not already signed in.

What should you evaluate?

An evaluation checklist for your own tasks
CriterionWhat to check
AccuracyCan you independently verify the claims, calculations and cited sources?
Instruction followingDoes the answer obey your format, audience, word count and exclusions?
ReasoningAre the assumptions stated and the proposed steps consistent with the evidence?
Writing qualityWould the intended reader understand and use the answer with minimal editing?
Code qualityDoes the code fit your environment and pass the relevant tests?
Usage and responsivenessDoes the result justify the credits consumed and time spent for this task?

A reusable prompt for writing comparisons

Write a launch email for a project-management app aimed at freelance designers. Use only these facts: shared task lists, project deadlines and client comments. Keep it under 150 words. Use a calm, direct tone, include one call to action, and do not invent prices or customer results.

Check whether each answer follows the factual boundary, length and tone. For coding, replace this with a small task from your real stack and define a passing test. The example is an evaluation prompt, not a published benchmark or a claim that one model wins.

Can I compare GPT, Claude and Gemini?

You can compare the supported models enabled for your OwnGent Hub account. Provider families and specific model versions are different things: a family name does not promise that every version is available. Check the live picker for your plan’s current choices.

OwnGent Hub provides its own workspace and subscription. It does not include separate subscriptions to the providers’ consumer apps. If you already have provider API keys and want direct model billing, explore the OwnGent AI multi-provider workspace.

Why can the same model give different answers?

Generated answers can vary between runs. Different settings, context, tool access and model updates can also change results. Repeat a representative task a few times and record what passed or failed before deciding that one answer reflects the model’s general capability.

Two models agreeing does not prove that a claim is correct. Follow citations to their original source, check calculations, and run code in an appropriate test environment. Compare for a concrete decision, such as which answer needs less editing, rather than treating longer output as automatically better.

Does comparing models use more credits?

A comparison requests multiple model responses. Its usage depends on the models and the size of the task; it should not be treated as a single response with a fixed cost. Check your balance and plan allowance, and use short trials before a larger evaluation.
